Achim Liebold started photography when he was 15 years
of age, earning his first wage with theatre photography. For eight years he then
portrayed the international music scene. During these years he also studied Photo
and Film Design.
At 22 years of age he opened a Studio for Still Life Photography in Hamburg, Germany
and started working as a freelance fashion photographer for the Publishing giant
Bertelsmann Media, for whom he travelled the world, photographing hundreds of fashion
spreads and covers.
At 26 he moved to New York, photographing fashion and beauty as well as portraying
celebrities from music and film. Two years later he moved to Paris, working mainly
in fashion, beauty and advertising photography.
But it is portrait and art photography that becomes increasingly important to him.
Achim Liebold lives now in Ireland and Berlin. With a different pace and a matured view, his photographs are simple, clear and powerful. His photography transcends the spirit of the person portrayed as well as the spirit of this very moment in time.
